MARADAR is a mobile and web application that lets you search for a pharmaceutical product in real time: your search is relayed to pharmacies near you, and those that have the product in stock respond. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who it is shared with, and what your rights are.
- No account is required to search for a product: you use the app anonymously.
- Your exact location is never sent to pharmacies: they only receive the product or products you are looking for and the search radius.
- The list of products belonging to a single prescription is automatically deleted after 30 days and detached from your session.
- We never sell individual data. Only aggregated, anonymized statistics (product, ~1 km zone, month) may be shared with players in the pharmaceutical sector.
1. Data controller
The MARADAR application is published by AHOMIN, in Benin. Contact for any question about your data: contact@ahomin.com.
2. Data we collect
If you are a general-public user (product search):
- An anonymous technical session identifier (no name, email or phone number is ever requested).
- Your GPS location at the moment you start a search, used to identify nearby pharmacies. Location is not tracked in the background.
- The name of the product or products searched, the date, and the status of the search (found / not found). A search may cover a single product, or several at once when you enter a prescription.
- A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to notify you when a pharmacy responds, and your display language.
- Optional information: in Settings, you may indicate your age range and your sex. This is entirely optional, it does not gate any feature, and you can remove it at any time with a single tap. This information is attached to the same anonymous session identifier as your searches — never to a name, an email address or a phone number. It is used only to better understand, in aggregate, who uses the service.
If you are a registered pharmacy:
- The Google account data used to sign in (email address, account name).
- Your pharmacy details: name, phone number, country, department, municipality and geographic location. This information is shown to users when you respond to a search, and on the public map once your listing is approved.
- A push notification token and your language.
If you are a member of a pharmacy team (paired with a code issued by the lead pharmacist, without a Google account):
- The display name you choose, your language, a notification token, your on-duty status and the date of your last activity. This information is visible to the pharmacist in charge of your pharmacy.
If you are a business customer (manufacturer, distributor, institution, on our statistics platform):
- The Google account data used to sign in (email address, account name), your organisation's name, your role and your subscription status.
We do not request any identifiable health data: searches are linked neither to a name, nor to an email address, nor to a phone number. The list of products belonging to a single prescription additionally receives the reinforced treatment described in section 7.
3. How we use the data
- Relay your search to pharmacies within a radius that widens progressively around your position, up to about 10 km.
- Show you the pharmacies that responded, with an in-app route and a call button. The route is computed by a third-party service (see section 5).
- Send you notifications about your searches (general public) or about searches near your pharmacy (pharmacies and pharmacy teams).
- Manually review pharmacy registrations to keep the network trustworthy.
- Produce aggregated, anonymized statistics (see section 6).
No prices are displayed or collected in the app: price verification and purchase happen directly between you and the pharmacy.
4. What pharmacies see
When a search is started near a pharmacy, it only receives the name of the product — or the list of products when the search covers a prescription — and the search radius (e.g. 5 km). It receives neither your location, nor your identity, nor any information about you. If it responds "In stock", it is the pharmacy's own details (name, phone, location) that are shared with you — never the other way around.
5. Data sharing and processors
We do not sell or rent your personal data. To operate, MARADAR relies on technical providers that process some data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication and real-time messaging.
- Google — Google Sign-In (pharmacy accounts and business accounts), map display (Google Maps), push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and web hosting (Firebase Hosting).
- Google Gemini — writing the dashboard summary for our business customers. Only already-aggregated, anonymized statistics are sent to it: no personal data, no individual search.
- OSRM — route calculation: when you display the route to a pharmacy, your position and the pharmacy's position are sent to the routing server to draw the path.
Your data may be disclosed if we are legally required to do so (court order, legal obligation).
6. Aggregated, anonymized statistics
MARADAR produces statistics about pharmaceutical product demand: product searched, geographic zone rounded to about 1 km, month, and outcome (demand met or not). These statistics contain no personal identifier and no exact location, and cannot be traced back to an individual. They may be shared with or sold to health-sector players (manufacturers, distributors, health authorities) to improve product availability. Individual data is never sold or shared.
When a search covers a prescription, the products of that prescription are grouped together in these statistics using a randomly generated identifier, which is derived neither from your session nor from your device, and which cannot be used to find you or to link two prescriptions together.
7. Data retention
- The list of products belonging to a single prescription is automatically deleted after 30 days, and the corresponding search is detached from your session at the same time. Only the anonymous statistics described in section 6 remain.
- Other searches are kept as long as needed to operate the service and build aggregated statistics, then deleted or anonymized.
- Pharmacy listings are kept while the account is active; a rejected or deleted listing is no longer visible to the public. If deletion is requested, the listing is removed from the public radar within 5 business days and the associated personal data is deleted within 30 days (see Account and data deletion).
- Push notification tokens are replaced or deleted when they expire.
8. Security
Data is hosted on secure infrastructure, transmitted encrypted (HTTPS) and protected by strict database access rules (each user can only read their own searches; individual data is not accessible from any application, including the platform intended for business customers, which only ever receives aggregates). Administrator access is restricted to a named allowlist.
9. Your rights
MARADAR is published from Benin and offered in several West African countries. We apply Law No. 2017-20 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin, as well as the personal data protection laws applicable in the other countries where the service is offered. Whatever your country, you have the right to access, rectify, object to and delete your data. To exercise these rights, write to contact@ahomin.com, or see the Account and data deletion page.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the personal data protection authority competent in your country. In Benin, this is the Personal Data Protection Authority (apdp.bj).
Anonymous users: you can withdraw location and notification permissions at any time in your phone settings; the app will then stop collecting that data. The optional information (age range, sex) can be removed directly in the app's Settings.
10. Children
MARADAR is a service for checking product availability in pharmacies, intended for the general public. It is not directed at children and does not collect any data that could identify them.
11. Changes
This policy may evolve with the service. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page; in the event of a significant change, we will inform you in the app.
